V-Intellect respects your privacy and complies with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and other applicable South African law. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our platform.

We collect information you provide when registering, placing orders, requesting quotes, or contacting us, including: name, email address, username, company details, contact and delivery details, and transaction data necessary to operate the marketplace. We may collect technical data such as IP address and device information for security and platform operation. Payment card details are processed by certified payment providers and are not stored by us.
3. Data processing transparency (POPIA)
We process your personal information for the following purposes: to provide and operate the platform; to process orders and payments; to communicate with you about your account and transactions; to enforce our terms and protect the platform; and to comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share data with suppliers (only as necessary to fulfil your orders), payment gateways, and service providers who assist us under strict confidentiality and data processing agreements. We will not use your information for direct marketing without your consent, and you may opt out at any time.
4. Electronic communications consent
By using the platform and providing your email and contact details, you consent to receive transactional communications (e.g. order confirmations, account notifications) and, where you have opted in, marketing communications in accordance with the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA). You may withdraw consent for marketing at any time by contacting us or using the unsubscribe link where provided.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, or alteration. Passwords are hashed; payment details are handled by certified payment providers. No system is completely secure; you provide information at your own risk and we do not guarantee absolute security.

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services, comply with law, or resolve disputes. Under POPIA you have the right to access, correct, and object to processing of your personal information, and to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.
